Practice Managers - Rachel Wilson and Victoria Sawyer
Rachel joined the Practice in September 2009 as a Receptionist and developed her career to become Practice Manager in December 2015. She is passionate about the Birches, it's patients and staff.
Rachel lives locally and is proud to serve the Kesgrave community.
Victoria joined the Practice in June 2014 as a Receptionist with a background of dispensary work. She became Practice Manager in December 2015 and is keen to see the Birches progress and develop to meet the needs of all patients.
Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions, dealing with prescription enquiries and updating patient records.
Our midwife holds weekly antenatal clinics. If you have a positive pregnancy test, please ask at reception for further information regarding your first visit appointment and how to obtain your Pregnancy Information Pack.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN)
Our CPN holds clinics here at The Birches on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and can offer advice and support with a range of mental health issues. A referral is needed from a doctor or Nurse, so please discuss this with one of our GP’s or Nurses if you would like to know more about gaining access to this service.
We are pleased to be offering the services of an Admiral Nurse (Dementia support). Professionally trained nurses will offer advice and support to any of our patients or their carers / family members in relation to dementia. They can help with social and support issues, care needs and medical support. Please speak to any of our clinical staff if you are interested in accessing this service.
